SXSW Recap: Mime Game and Cheers Elephant

SXSW 2014 may have come and gone, but that doesn’t mean there still isn’t plenty to talk about. We reconnected with Mime Game and Cheers Elephant to get their thoughts on what went down in Austin.

We asked each band what their one big takeaway was from this year’s SXSW. From Mime Game:

I think more than anything what we really took away from this trip is that we no longer have to settle and that we never did. There is no reason to subject yourself to constant negativity or to a life that you can’t reconcile living. Everything is so lovely if you’ll let it be and all it takes is making that mental switch. Feeling ourselves becoming more than just a band, but a family, was easily the most exciting thing that happened. It’s always fun to make big connections and to really be a genuine person and in turn attract more genuine people along the way and as our family grows, so do our hearts to accommodate and make the space that we need to be able to all call that place home.

And from Cheers Elephant:

Well, this year’s SXSW was the most exhausting week in the band’s career and I wasn’t so sure we would come out unscathed.  But, we somehow managed.  So a take away would be that with the right amount of determination, lack of hygiene and copious amounts of humor, we are capable of anything and everything.  This is good news, seeing how 2014 has huge things in store for us.

Thanks everyone!
